In April of 2016 folks from the Mackenzie Region elected the first directors of the Lodge Board. The newly formed Board was provided a mandate to pursue the initial planning stages of the vision of creating a designated supportive living seniors centre in Fort Vermilion. Over the past six years your Lodge Board has done just that through building relationships with various government officials, sector professionals, first nation communities, Metis, local health officials, the region’s housing board and municipalities.
One of our key relationships rests with the Rural Development Network of whom the Board hired to complete a feasibility study with a Northern Metrics component. RDN’s final report will be submitted to the Board later this fall 2022 and is a critical step in the process of qualifying regional health information necessary to prompt the government to designate a seniors care lodge in Fort Vermilion. The Board anticipates to have a fulsome update at its 2022 Annual General MeetingAlberta Societies Act: Annual general meeting (25) A society shall hold an annual general meeting in Alberta and shall present at that meeting a financial statement setting out its income, disbursements, assets and liabilities, audited and signed by the society’s auditor. Refer to the FVASELB1788 Bylaws for further information on its Annual general meeting.. Thank you for your patience as we all work hard to look after our most vulnerable
